Baked Catfish Fillets

Baked Catfish Fillets With Egg and Onion Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • Catfish fillets (1lb)
  • Evaporated milk (1/2c)
  • Cornstarch (1tbsp)
  • Thinly sliced onion (1)
  • Vanilla (2drops)
  • Butter (1tbsp)
  • Hard-cooked egg
  • Sieved (1)
  • Pepper (1/8tsp)
  • Salt (3/4tsp)

Method Of Preparation:-

First heat the oven to 400 degrees F. Take catfish fillets and cut them into pieces of serving size. Take a shallow baking dish; place the fish pieces and slices of onion in it. Now place the dish in preheated oven and bake it at 400 degrees F for about 25 minutes. Take a warm serving dish, place the baked fish carefully in it and pour the broth into a saucepan. Add pepper and salt in the pan. Mix cornstarch in cold water to make a paste and then add it into the broth in the pan. Cook it by stirring regularly over low heat until it gets thickened. Then mix butter, egg, and vanilla in it and pour it over baked fish in the serving dish. Now serve it hot.

  • All-purpose flour or cornflour (1/4c),
  • Fresh or frozen and thawed catfish fillets (1 pound),
  • Cooking oil for shallow frying,
  • Salt (1/8tsp),
  • Ground black pepper (1/4tsp)
  • Ground red pepper (1/2tsp)
  • Endive (optional)
  • Tartar sauce (optional)
  • Lemon wedges (optional)

Method Of Preparation:-

Pan-Fried CatfishTake a shallow dish, mix corn or all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper and red pepper in it. Then coat the fish fillets in this flour mixture. Take a frying pan of 12 inches, heat cooking oil in it over medium heat until it gets hot. Place the fish fillets in a single layer in the frying pan. Fry the fillets from one side for about 3 minutes until they change to golden color. Now turn the side of the fillets and fry them for 3 to 4 minutes more until the fillets change to golden color and flakes easily with a fork. Then place fried fish fillets on paper towels to drain. Now the pan-fried catfish is ready to serve. Decorate the fish with lemon wedges and endive and then serve it hot with tartar sauce.

1. Catfish fillets (1pound)
2. cayenne pepper (2tsp)
3. butter (2tbsp)
4. garlic powder (2tsp)
5. lemon powder (2tsp)
6. Italian style salad dressing (1c)
7. pepper (2tsp)
8. salt (2tsp)

Method Of Preparation:-

1. First heat the oven to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F. Take a baking dish of medium size, grease it lightly.

2. Take a shallow bowl of medium size; add garlic powder, pepper, lemon powder, cayenne pepper and salt in it. Mix all these ingredients properly.

3. Take fish fillets and brush both sides of them with butter and then coat the fillets the garlic powder mixture.

4. Take a large heavy frying pan, heat it over medium-high heat. Then add fish fillets in it and fry them for about 2 minutes from each side until they get slightly blackened. Now place the fried fish fillets in a greased baking dish in one layer and coat them with salad dressing.

  • Catfish fillets (1 ½ pound)
  • Cooking spray

  • Celery seed (1/2tsp)
  • Salt (1tsp)
  • Paprika (1tsp)

1. Flour (1/4c)
2. cornmeal (1/4c)
3. catfish (3lb)
4. vegetable oil (3c)
5. minced onion (1/4c)
6. beer (1 about 12 ounces)
7. beaten eggs (2)
8. salt and pepper (to taste)

Method Of Preparation:-

1. Take a mixing bowl of medium size, mix cornmeal, flour, pepper, and salt in it.

2. Take another mixing bowl of medium size, beat eggs in it and then add minced onions and beer in it. Mix it well. Take catfish, cut it into strips of 2 inches.

3. Take a heavy frying pan, heat oil in it for frying. Take strips of catfish, first, roll them in flour mixture and then dip them into the egg-beer mixture and then again coat the fish strips with flour mixture. 1. All-purpose flour (1 1/2c)
2. catfish fillets (4 about 8 ounces)
3. baking powder (2tsp)
4. onion powder (1tbsp)
5. melted butter (1c)
6. evaporated milk (1can, 12 fluid ounce)
7. grated parmesan cheese (1/2c)
8. salt and pepper (to taste)
9. ground dry mustard (1tbsp)
10. garlic powder (1tbsp)
11. Italian seasoning (1tbsp)

Method Of Preparation:-

1. Take catfish fillets, wash and then pat dry them. Take a shallow dish, place fish fillets in it and then pour milk over the fillets. Cover the dish and place it in the refrigerator for about 6 hours.

2. Now heat the oven to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F. Take a mixing bowl of large size, add cheese, flour, baking powder, onion powder, dry mustard, garlic powder, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning in the bowl. Mix all these ingredients properly.

3. Then take out the fish from the refrigerator and coat with flour mixture. Take a rimmed baking pan, grease it lightly and place the coated fillets in it and then sprinkle melted butter over them.

  • dried parsley flakes
  • honey Dijon mustard (1/4c)
  • finely chopped onion (1)
  • garlic
  • salt

Method Of Preparation:-

First heat the oven to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F. Take a bowl of small size, mix mustard and finely chopped onions in it. Take fish fillets, season them with pepper, salt and garlic and place them on a baking dish. Now coat the fish fillets with onion and mustard mixture and then dust the dried parsley flakes on the top of the fish. Place the baking dish in preheated oven and bake the fish fillets for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees F. Now turn the oven to broil and then broil the fish fillets for about 3 to 5 minutes until they golden color. the fish is ready to serve.
